Located near MG Road in Secunderabad, General Bazaar is the most popular shopping street in Hyderabad for ladies. Conventional sarees to trendy tops, everything is available in General Bazaar and are sold at astonishingly affordable rates. Some of the lehengas and salwaar kameez sold there are woven by the most skilful tailors of the city. Most of the shops are old and have been in the family for more than two or three generations. The market place also holds the reputation of being one of the best places to have street food.The well known Rajasthani chat bhandar, beside the Mahakali Temple is probably one among the most popular eating out spots for college students and visitors to Hyderabad. Besides, there are food joints like Universal Bakers and Karachi Bakery, which are examples of age old, yet popular places for some authentic Hyderabadi experience.

Chudi BazaarSultan Bazaar

Sultaan Bazaar in Koti, is an old commercial market known to sell all products at wholesale prices. It is popular among people for its wide range of goods sold at affordable rates. The market houses Pancharatan, a popular vegetarian restaurant which has been in existence for many years. Sultaan Bazaar is known for its sweet shops which are one of the best places in town to try ‘Kubaani Ka Meetha’ and ‘Double Ka Meetha’. James street is a book lovers paradise with its many books stores and rare collection of books and magazines. Some of the rarest books of the world are imported from James Street.

Begum Bazaar

With a rich commercial and cultural heritage, Begum Bazaar stands out as the second oldest market area in Hyderabad, it is 400-year-old. The Bazaar is known for ‘Dakhni Kaarigari’ (Specialised South Indian craftsmanship) on jewellery and handcrafted zardozi borders of sarees.All the products made here are woven by the craftsmen, without machinery. This place is known for its plethora of jewellery stores and garment shops, which specialise in Hyderabadi outfits.

Chudi Bazaar

Chudi Bazaar is the oldest market, which is 250 years old, known for its authentic Hyderabadi pearl and bangles, it is also very famous for Charminar diamonds. This place has a wide variety of delicacies which attract people. Some of the most famous dishes found there are- Malai jalebi, Tala Hua Ghosth, Faluda and Charminar Junnu. ‘Mushaira’ sessions, take place on Fridays, after the Namaz, which attract many young poets. It is a popular tourist spot.
