So, it’s summer again. Time to say no to heavy makeups, unfold those light colored cotton wears, shorts, carry umbrellas and even more. This article is going to discuss once again all those ways of how to beat the heat.
Water, water and water- Firstly, and of course most importantly, stay hydrated. Carry your own bottle of water whenever you go out.
Unfold the light colored clothes- Light colored cotton shirts or dresses are ideal for the summer season. It is not a very good idea to wear shorts or short skirts during the day time sinceyou might get a bad tan.
Use a scarf and shades- If you have to go out in the scorching heat, cover your head and face with a scarf. Also, try wearing a three quartered or full sleeves to have your hands covered. Also, put on your shades to avoid direct contact with the sun.
Avoid loud and heavy makeup - If you can do without makeup, that’s perfect. But if you have to apply make up, make sure it is not at all loud. Use a primer prior to applying anything to stop excess sweating.
Shower many times- Shower whenever you feel like. Keep washing your face and the back of your neck. Doing so helps to stay relatively cooler.
Avoid food or eat spicy food- It’s a better idea to drink lots of juices with ice cubes or you could consume spicy food which increases perspiration and cools the body.
Use ice-bags- tie an ice bag round your wrist. Your veins will become cool and soon your whole body will feel cooler.
Don’t stay in the a.c always - How about going out to enjoy ice-cream sessions with a friend or going for swimming or water games, this summer?
Turn off unnecessary electric stuff- Turn off unnecessary lights or oven or other electric stuff that tends to rise the room temperature.
Preparations during bed time- before going to bed, you could apply cold water on your ankles and back of your knees. It helps. Also, use covers which make you sweat less. Some prefer to wet the covers or a blanket, too.
Stay on the ground floor- try staying on the ground floor. You could lie down on the floor too. The ground floor of a building remains the coolest.
Use spray bottles- keep a spray bottle with you so that you can spray water on yourself every now and then.
Cooling Cucumbers- When you are feeling stressed out due to the heat put a slice of cucumber on your eyes or forehead. It is bound to make you feel cooler.
Think cool- Try thinking of things that make you feel cool and better. Engage in de-stressing activities. Read a book, wet your feet in a pool or a bucket of cold water. So, these are some of the ways of staying cool during the hot summer months. You could of course come up with new ideas but don’t keep doing something that does not suit your health. Beat the heat, enjoy the summer.
