Ever thought of spending time in a farm? Our urban lifestyle doesn’t let us do so. We hardly know about the farming culture. With this thought Deepthi embarked a new venture and hence born Farm Tours. “Farming is a culture which is to be inherited; unfortunately urban people are unaware of this culture. We are so busy that we are losing ourselves. Farm tours give leisure.” says Vangala Deepthi Reddy founder of FarmTours. Deepthi and her friend Ram Devari organizes trips to farms in and around Hyderabad. Deepthi, a young horticulture graduate from ANGRAU, launched this program in March this year with the help of her friend Ram Devari who is the CEO of this organization.
“Our first tour was organized at John Organic Farm in Medchal. These tours are a great way to connect to the nature. We organise theme based tours every week. Farm Tour involves any agriculturally based operation or activity that brings visitors to a farm, a niche tourism associated with Agritainment – Agriculture + Entertainment; Value added products; Farm direct marketing; Sustainable Agriculture and Farm knowledge exchange”, she details about the entire concept.
Their tourists include not only Hyderabadi adults and children but also foreigners. These participants share their experiences. Vaishu, an elated kid says “I enjoyed sowing seeds, harvesting tomatoes & winning palak harvesting competition.” Kathy a foreign national says “This is my first visit to rural India, I enjoyed entire day filled with farm activity and food was good”. The cost of these trips varies depending on the theme and location. Here is a chance to unravel the farming culture. To register contact on: 9030051235, 040-64100253
