Goa, located on the Konkan coast was once upon a time a colony of the Portuguese and therefore its structures have a lot of influence of Portuguese architecture. and Goa can be reached by road, air and rail. If you wish to travel by air, then the nearest airport is Dabolim airport, located in Vasco Da Gama city. Located at 29 kilometers from Panaji on the coast near Vasco Da Gama, this is the fastest route to go to this place. Goa can also be reached by road. A number of state transport buses from Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka travel to and fro from Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and other locations.There are a lot of private travels also which run buses to this place from Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. With the commencement of the Konkan Railways, going to Goa by train has become quite common. It is not hard to find trains originating and passing through Goa.There are a lot of trains connecting Margao and Vasco Da Gama to the prominent cities of India.

Goa, being a tourist destination, the hotels here are very expensive to stay in. Hotels in Goa are well known for their charm and luxury. At one time,they were the favorite haunts of the hippies. Even after them, the luxury and facilities offered by hotels in Goa are praiseworthy.There are also hotels built by the MTDC and other well known timeshare holiday companies.There is the VILLAGIO INN, which offers a plethora of facilities like laundry,room service, in room dining, a play area for activities, etc.There are other not so well known hotels that offer more or less the same facilities.As indicated earlier, structures in Goa bear the influence of Portuguese architecture.

Goa is a place surrounded by the sea on one side and land on the other three sides.This place is said to be attracting about two million visitors annually from all over the world. This is a very good location for someone who wishes to enjoy beaches. Goa has many beaches like Anjuna, Calangute,to name a few. Due to it being a land of beaches, sea food is the staple of people of this location. Even visitors or tourists going to this place do not fail to have the seafood available here. Goa being a beach destination, is famous for parties, festivals and shopping.During the month of December, a lot of tourists visit this location to celebrate the New Year. Goa is also famous for its cashew nuts. All types of cashew nuts are available in this location.If not anything, tourists visiting this place buy cashew nuts at least.Then there is the Goa carnival that is held in mid-February. During this time, its streets are filled with vibrant colours and there are a lot of people visiting this place. Goa is a sightseeing paradise.There are a lot of places worth visiting in this region. We have beaches like Anjuna, Calangute, Dona Paula, etc, forts like Fort Aguada, etc.Goa is a location that is famous for its parties and nightlife. Alcohol is cheaply available in this location and therefore a lot of tourists go to this place to enjoy their alcohol. Feni is the most easily available alcohol which is locally brewed.
