Bread pakoda

With schools reopening, making your child finish his lunch box worries most parents. Kids often come back with half eaten lunch box. Don’t worry, make these yummy healthy food items which your kids can’t have enough of it and they will refuse to share their food even with their best friends.

Ingredients

To Be Mixed Into A Paneer Stuffing
  1. 1 cup grated paneer
  2. 1/4 cup grated carrot
  3. 1/4 cup boiled and lightly mashed

green peas

  1. 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  2. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
  3. 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania) salt to taste

To Be Mixed Into A Smooth Batter

  1. 3/4 cup besan (Bengal gram flour)
  2. 1/3 cup water
  3. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
  4. 1/4 tsp chilli powder
  5. a pinch asafoetida (hing) salt to taste

Other Ingredients

4 whole wheat bread slices  oil for deep-frying Method
  1.  Divide the stuffing into 4 equal portions and keep aside.
  2. Place a slice of bread on a clean, dry surface and spread a portion of the stuffing evenly over it.
  3. Place another slice of bread over it, press lightly and cut it diagonally into 2 equal pieces.
  4. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make 2 more pieces.
  5. Dip each piece in the batter till it is evenly coated from all the sides,slide in hot oil and deep-fry on a medium flame till the pakodas turn light brown in colour and crisp from both the sides. Drain on absorbent paper. Let it cool and wrap in aluminium foil.
