Our Hyderabadi youngsters are making big in entrepreneurship. They are ready to quit their full time job only to start their own business. Same is the case with this city girl Hansika Sawhney. She quit her job and started her own business of styling mobile phones. She designs dust plugs for earphones jack (an innovative way to protect them from collecting dust) and mobile phone covers under the label ‘Inkypinky’.
This entrepreneur cum freelance Salsa teacher started her venture ‘Inkypinky’ two years back and over the time her clientele is only increasing. “I have a satisfied clientele as I treat them on a personal level. I make them feel special. They come back and tell me that they are loving the stuff and receiving compliments in their friends circle too. This is what makes me going,” shares this Bcom graduate from St. Francis who also holds a diploma in Psychology. How did you get into designing mobiles? “It just struck me one day. I love designing my mobile and so I thought why don’t I do it for others? And my family liked my idea too,” says 24-year-old Hansika.
She details about the different designs on offer and their availability. “There is a large variety of dust plugs made from fancy pearls, rosettes, hearts, rhinestones, lace, crochet, etc. I do a lot of customized cases for clients and most of my designs have a designer touch to them that I bring by adding little charms and trinkets to it. And if the items are in stock I take about 3 to 4 days to deliver.” Hansika handles her business all by herself and finds it a bit challenging. “It’s quite challenging. Right from phone calls to messages, to my page, I have to manage everything by myself. But I am handling it pretty well,” says this fully fledged entrepreneur. Right now she has dust plugs for Samsung mobiles and iphone but she is planning to unleash her creativity to novelty items and other mobile phones.
“I am planning to design hair accessories, diaries, necklaces as well. People love my necklaces so I am planning to design chunky neck pieces, not the usual ones that are available in the market but handpicked ones”, she says Inkypinky dust plugs range from Rs.250 to Rs. 500 and the cases range from Rs. 700 to Rs. 1200.
