The organic diet

do it right with the organic diet

The organic diet - Organic food is produced using methods of organic farming that basically mean the non-use of chemical fertilizers in the farms. This Industry has grown by leaps and bounds. In USA the land under organic cultivation has been doubling every five years or so.

But what makes people to go Organic? Well, we tell you :

  1. Overall Health: Organic food is not prepared with the use of chemical fertilizers and hence there will not be any traces of these harmful materials as well. The food will be natural and more suitable to the growth of the body without any side effects.
  2. Positive Impact on Environment: The land is kept most pristine and natural state by not using chemical fertilizers. This prevents environmental degradation and reduces pollution.
  3. Reduced Impact of Antibiotics: Non-Organic meat sources actually feed antibiotics to the livestock and consumption of such meat actually weakens the immunity system greatly. Organic meat production reduces this impact drastically!
  4. Reduced Impact of Carbon: Organic farming leads to more carbon retention in the soil, thereby preventing its release into the atmosphere and causing climate fluctuations.
  5. Reduced Impact of Pesticides: There has been growing evidence to link certain forms of childhood blood cancer, infertility, obesity, miscarriages etc because of getting exposed to pesticides. An organic diet will help reduce the harmful impact of these chemical agents on the human body.
  6. Better, Natural taste: This is likely to be debated, but there is a growing tribe of people who swear by the freshness and taste of the organic food versus non-organic food. Taste is always a personal matter, but it seems logical to believe that natural food is likely to be tastier. Remember the taste of a naturally grown mango versus drinking artificially canned mango pulp with additives!
  7. Better Metabolism: Recent studies show that eating more organic food leads to the building of more muscles, burning off more fat and a better metabolic rate!
  8. Sheer Variety: You can still eat bread, meat, eggs, vegetables, fruits, rice, desserts and cereals and drink wine, beer, juice and shakes by following an organic diet. So, you are not really missing out on anything.
OK, Organic food is generally more costly, but always remember it is a trade-off between money and health in the longer run!
Sometimes it might be better to try seasonal, local food rather than buy imported organic food that uses more fossil fuels for the travel than can be sustained by our planet.
As you can see, the advantages of going organic outweigh the disadvantages by at least four times. Hope you are now convinced to go organic, like so many have all over the world, and do better in life!
