Training your Dog

Training your dog is part of responsible ownership. Training your dog to be a well mannered canine citizen will not only improve your relationship with them, it will keep them safe and happy. Here are some tips to help you train your dog or find a trainer.
When your dog reaches six months, make sure that your dog is spayed or neutered. This is also a good time to begin obedience training classes. A dog that has been spayed or neutered will do better in obedience school than one who has not been. You and your dog will have many more happy years together and your pet will also be healthier.
Training your DogDon’t bog your puppy down with more information than he can process. A puppy has a short attention span and limited energy to focus, so keep your sessions brief and as positive as possible. A training session that wears your puppy out is going to turn into an unpleasant memory, making him less likely to respond well to subsequent sessions, and more inclined to ignore what you are trying to teach him.
A majority of dog bites can be attributed to a fearful dog. This occurs whenever dogs feel trapped, threatened, and frightened. Do not get physical with your dog. This may have serious negative consequences, such as your dog biting you. Your dog will be more likely to want to please you.
Mentally stimulating your dog is important to its health and happiness. Take your dog on a walk, give them toys and bones to keep them busy. A bored pooch find ways to be entertained, like chewing up your favorite books and shoes. Give your dog something to do, and you will both be happier.
The most important part of dog training is to ensure that dog know its name. You must have a good response from your dog in order to have a proper amount of control. Call them to you at least ten times a day. Also, it is very inappropriate for you to call the dog over to you and then punish him, as this will teach him to fear you and discourage him from coming when called.
The first step in training a puppy is to make sure he knows his name. Use their name often, and then teach them how to come to you when called. This should be the first thing you teach your puppy. By setting aside some special time for you and your puppy, you will give him the opportunity to get to know you, as well as trust you. This way, you will find future training to be infinitely easier.
Hopefully the tips we have given will ensure that you, as well as others, enjoy your dog and his company. Owning a disciplined, well-behaved dog can make your job as a pet owner far more manageable. Whether you get help from a professional or not, training your dog is one of the best ways to ensure the best
